Trusted-trader programs speed up border processing for low-risk, pre-approved carriers, importers and drivers.
FAST is the joint Canada–US commercial clearance program for low-risk shipments. Participation requires every link in the supply chain — manufacturer, carrier, driver and importer — to be certified (CTPAT in the US; PIP in Canada), and the driver to hold a FAST card. The driver card is valid for five years; the non-refundable driver fee is US$50 (no fee for carriers or importers).
